Our unwavering commitment is to uphold the highest standards and adhere to best practices by ensuring OMAC's alignment with health and safety compliance, providing dedicated qualified instructors, and being accredited with Qualworx. This commitment is at the core of our operations and guides our every decision.
Safety Management System
We have a comprehensive Safety Management System that has been designed in collaboration with experienced industry specialists.
Our system is built on three key components. First, we identify and record potential hazards and develop detailed management strategies to safely deliver our programmes, documented in our Safety Assessment Plans (SAPs). From these plans, we establish practical Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)—that our instructors follow to meet safety requirements. Finally, we ensure that every instructor has completed the relevant competencies, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain the highest safety standards. The SOPs and SAPs have been independently peer-reviewed by a Qualifications Trainer and Assessor who has previously worked on Great Barrier Island. The finalised H&S documents will subsequently be made available on the OMAC website. Until OMAC is fully safety accredited, we will use external safety-accredited providers for our adventure activities.
